Just got my SD card!
Hi everyone...

I finally got my 1GB SD card I know this is a silly question but I can't find a way to access my SD card directly through my PC. Maybe I can't do that? I would like to open my SD card as a drive on my PC but do I need a external SD card reader?

and one last question. How do I install program to my SD card instead of the main memory... thanks a bunch!

Hi shanerpark.

Congrats on getting your 1GB SD card. To be able to access the card on your PC you will need an external USB card reader. You can get one from any office supply store, computer supply store, etc. They are inexpensive.

You can install programs to your SD card during the Activesync install process. When your PPC is docked and you are installing a program to the PPC it will ask you if you want to install it to the default location. Click No. It will then give you a list of areas where you can install the software. If your SD card is in the PPC then the SD Card will be one of the choices. Select SD Card and click OK. The files will install to the SD card. Depending on the software some files may still install in \Windows which is in Main Memory. Also be mindful that any software that has Today Screen plugins should be installed to main memory.

Not that I can think of. You have to have some way of plugging the card into the PC itself something attached to the PC. I got mine for under $30. It is well worth it. If you plan on copying large files to your card (MP3's, Movies, etc.) you will appreciate the speed of a card reader. Trying to copy the file to a PPC via Activesync takes forever.

amen to that white... i work at office max, sometimes you can find an iomega 7in1 card reader/floppy (which is still useful i must say) after rebates for $39... speed is great. Also, if your a bit more frugal, i'll let you know when our individual/dual card readers go on sale for $1.99 after rebates

You can access your SD card from your PC while your PPC is connected via Active Sync. Just click on the Explore Button in the Active Sync box or on your PC right click start, explore and then go down to mobile device.

If you have your PPC in the cradle.. you can access th SD card like a folder. The ppc shows up as a "drive" or "device" on your "my computer" window.

gratz on the 1GB. What kind did you get?

From what I have read that is one of the fastest cards out, I think I'm going to wait for the 2GB sd cards for my next purchase.
