SD->CF adapter?
Hey, does anyone know if there are SD to CF converters? for example, i have an abundance of sd cards, but no cf cards, so i'd like to use the sd card in the sd slot and also put another sd card into the cf slot with a converter of some sort...
my guess is that no such luck, but just in case...

Too bad someone couldn't make a cf type 2 card that is thicker and fit 2 or more sd card slots into it and then create a "raid"--that would be interesting. I'd love to have one of these. I know that what you want exists but it is like $50 and I can't remember where I saw it. I think someone talked about it here on ipaqhq in the past. Try searching for the answer.

well if it were a type II card and was thicker, it wouldn't be type II anymore!
but i did find a link, it was buried in the general hardware section... lol this is the whole reason why i suggested this forum! anyway http://www.mittoni.com/securedigital/adapter2.html is the link does anyone know if the 4in1 adapters would work on the pocket pc platform? that would be cool to have a memory stick/sd/whatever else reader

a type 2 cf card is thicker than a type 1 cf card and a standard pcmcia card is the same thickness as a type 2 cf card...
![]() and yes the 4 in 1 and other multi cf adapters like this one http://www.mittoni.com/catalog/produ...oducts_id/1272 do work on ppcs

Back on Topic:
I have an imation FlashGo! multi-format reader that came with adaptors. The reader is for CF cards and has adaptors for SD, Memory Stick, and SmartMedia. I haven't tried the adaptors with the iPaq yet (they do not work with the Sharp Zaurus). I will try them when I get home and see if they work. If they do, I will post the model number and any other identifying information for them.

I had an Imation FlashGo too, but those adapters are different and won't work on a Pocket PC.
I have one of the Mittoni Memory Stick to CF adapters. It works perfectly with my iPAQ hx4700, and also worked perfectly with my former iPAQ 2210.

I have the Semsons 5-1 CF adapter (reads MMC, SM, SD, MS/MS pro)- but is bulky- the actual adapter for the other cards sticks out (similar to MIttoni's 4-1.- although I"m still looking for the Compact Trio (SD, MMC, MS) by Pretec which I dont think they manufacture anymore (cannot find it in their website). I like the Mittonis- SD/MMC to CF..but i'm looking for one that also reads MS-but not the type that i have that is bulky..

I hate it how companies call things 8-in-1 and then call Compact Flash I, Compact Flash 2, and Micro Drives all separate cards! That should be automatic, in these days, that supporting one will support the rest. Plus, some don't do that! So you're comparing a 5-in-1 which probably does every type of card known to man to a 7-in-1 which does less but just added CF2, Micro, MMC.
