CF card prob = CF 2

I just had a very strange prob with my cf card.
My pda ran down its battery before I could get it back to recharge. Thought the backup battery was no where near done.

Anway, the CF card now registers as CF Card 2. I have just installed some new software to it which is what made me take notice. But also importantly on the programs menu all my old software that was on the cf card no longer has its icon and can not load or be accessed?

Any ideas about the cause or solution?

Weird! My Toshiba once had a phantom "Memory Card 3" that did nothing.
