Defrag Microdrives

Does Anyone if it is advisable or necessary to defragment a 4 Gb Hitachi Microdrive occasionally - mine seems to be slowing down a little after some months of use.

I never defragment my memory cards, or my microdrives, but I do occasionally format them after extended periods of use.
Which basically accomplishes the same thing

It will only make things run smoother, and clean-up any messes!

As the microdrive is effective a small hard drive then it may, over time, become defragmented - this will depend on its usage (how many files are added/deleted etc).

You won't harm it by defragging it, but you shouldn't have to do it too often. It may be something else that's causing the slow-down (e.g. memory) - how often do you do a soft reset?
