SD card reading problems in cardreader.
I have a sandisk 1 gb sd card. Using it in my Ipaq 4700. When I try to read it in my cardreader( build in my desktop) it will only read it after I format the card. But then all my data on the card are lost.So I can only put data on it while using the active sync and my pda. For putting new maps(tt5 navigator) on the sd card it is advised to me to use a card reader for that.
Probably my card reader is off an older type.
Can anyone name/recommand a good external usb card reader which can read the sandisk +1 gb cards without any problems?

Hi,

I have had problems with my Conceptronic card reader, so although i can't recommend a good one right now I'd like to warn you about that one! There are so many new names on the market, it's all such a matter of luck these days.

Have you tried the following?
- Get Pocket Mechanics
- Insert the SD card in your PPC
- Format it in your PPC using Pocket Mechanics
- Download whatever you need into your PPC from you PC using ActiveSync

Or else, you can try the following brand for SD card reader:
- Sandisk 5-In-1 Card Reader
- Dynex Single Card Reader - MMC/SD
