Why is Kingston Elite Pro rated @50X

Hi Guys,

This is my first post. Came here searching about SD cards and I was impressed to see all the information on storage cards here on this forum...so I decided to put in my own queries :)

I want to buy 2GB SD Card for my camera, a fast one...
I was surprized to see Kingston's Flagship SD Card rated only at 50X while the card cheaper to it is rated at 120X(the Kingston Ultimate), also this card manages to get praise everywhere from the customers, be it newegg, amazon or forums for its amazing speed...Now I wanna know, am I missing out on something, why does 50X card perform so fast, is there anything else too, which determines the speed of the card??

Lastly, I'm trying to decide which card to buy, I've narrowed down to either Transcend 150X or Kingston Elite Pro, both are similarly priced, so which would be better?

Regards,

I have a Transcend 150X 8gb CF card and a 150X 4gb SD card. I use the latter in my camera and the CF card in my X51V. No issues with them at all.

The faster the card the faster your camera can process the data that is your digital photo, useful for taking series of photos and the like, also lets you use the camera for higher grade photo's, different, more varied options with a digital camera that resemble an analogue camera

I used their 1GB - it was faster than a supposedly 133x TwinMOS 2GB card.... but then again, that's probably because TwinMOS interprets '133x' as '100x read, 33x' write.
