is anyone on here using an A-Data 16gb CF card? i've looked over the compatibility list and didnt see it listed. i'm in the market for a larger storage card (current one in my x51v is a 1gb Lexar). i dont really care so much for blistering speed, i just want alot of storage! i'm going to be traveling in the near future and i'm going to try to leave the laptop at home (or at least in the truck) and just use the PDA. i need some major storage for my games and movies. i found this card at Newegg.com and it is very reasonable...i went there searching for an 8gb card when i found this 16gb.
anyone got any experience with her?
thanks,
Chris

I have a 8gb Transcend CF card and a 4gb Transcend SD card in my X51V. Both work fine with no issues for me. I would do a search of this site for others comments on the 'A-Data' line of memory cards.

I'll be interested to see if anyone has experience with this card too. I have the Transcend 8 GB CF card and a 4 GB A-Data SD card - both work great in my pocket pc, but I'd like a bigger CF card too. The larger CF cards should work in pocket pcs, and I've seen a lot of discussion of the larger CF cards. But I have yet to see any confirmation from anyone who has one.
A good deal on a 16GB CF card? Could you provide a link?

The Following User Says Thank You to Julie For This Useful Post:
i just read the reviews of this card on the Newegg webpage and saw that someone on there is using this card with an x50v with no problems at all...perhaps this one will work in the x51v as well...
i'll keep you guys informed...in the meantime, if anyone else has some thoughts or experiences with this one please let me know...

Wow! That's a really great price! About what I paid for my 8GB CF card only a few months ago.

Update:
Had some funny things happen. Lost some files on the CF and sometimes installs to CF didn't take. Card reader worked fine and the 2795 showed the full 16G. I put the 8G Sandisk Ultra back in. that one worked with the hx2755 and 2795 no problems on both WM2003 and WM5. I'm reformatting and reloading the A Data card and made a couple telcons to HP and finally got someone who understood what I was asking. He called the Lab and they told him that the largest CF that they regularly test and use us 4G so that's the size they can attest to. I told him about my work with the 8G and he said that they have not tested that size regularly but that the Lab did tell him that they have found the high density CF's to be troublesome... Huh? I don't see too many being marketed relative to their "density", anyway I let it pass. Muttering to myself something 'bout product knowledge. :realmad:
If things improve with the A Data card I'll post. I did note that Sandisk now has a 16G Extreme CF card and am almost tempted to bite the bullet base on my success with their 8G card. Anyone using that Sandisk?
the writing on card reader is kinda slow
but it's OK because I use it on music storage
the card is rather reliable when playing audio files with Pocket Player on my HX2495
if you use it to store music files, you won't be disappointed
the next target: 16GB SD-HC (after the 3rd party driver installed)
32, even 48GB of solid state storage, no joke
I have run that exact card for over 3 months now and no problems. In that same time my 1gb kingmax sd has gone south twice and needed a reformat. Best $130 I ever spent.
Think I narrowed the cause down some. Seems that running XCPUSCALER causes the system to choke with the 16g card while it runs great with the 8g Sandisk Ultra....? I have no sure idea why though.
