Mapping Application on CF Card to Button

Hi good people.

I have problems mapping applications installed on my 8gb Sandisk UltraII CF card, onto one of the 4 'hard' buttons on the Axim x51v, using the Button tool in the Setting section of the MS Mobile 5.

If I assign an application (installed on the CF card) to one of these button, whenever I press the relevant button when the Pocket PC is in standby, the device PC 'freezes', so I need to soft reset to start the device again. There is no problem if the device is 'on' already. There is also no problem if the same application is installed on the SD card instead.

Any advice/help?

Thanks in advance.

When the pocket pc is in standby time, you really need to give it a few seconds to wake up before attempting to access data or an application that is installed on a storage card, otherwise you'll get the result you describe. You'll need to turn the pocket pc back on in the conventional manner (pressing the power button) or by pressing another key on the pocket pc before pressing the shortcut key. Or you could install the application to main memory. If the application is installed to main memory, you won't experience this problem, because the pocket pc will not need the few seconds to recognize properly recognize the storage card.
