Aximsitesoftwareicon SD/SDHC to CF adapter

I realize it's early days on this device but I was looking for a SDHC to CF card adapter and came across this one from a German company called Robo

JOBO - mini Adapter für SD/SDHC auf CF (SE9108)*Secure Digital (SD) / SDHC auf Compact Flash (CF)

JOBO SD/SDHC to CF Adapter coming to USA in August: Olympus SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

There is very little info on it at this stage (that I can find) but it looks interesting and may be being sold in the USA sometime soon at B&H.

Would be great if one could throw in a 16gb SDHC card and then use it in the CFII card slot. Let me dream... :)

Why not just get a 16GB CF card?

Because of the added flexibility of having a SDHC card for use in a camera etc in which a CF card won't fit.

I wonder if there will be problems reading an SDHC card through the CF slot on pocket pcs? We all know the SD slot won't currently read the SDHC cards. It will be interesting to find out....

im pretty sure it is more than just the adapter at work here... the OS will have to address that amount of space. newer devices shouldn't have much problem, but some older ones might.

Well as best I know, the change from SD to SDHC was purely software, not hardware, meaning that your average axim, providing it had the correct drivers, could run it. I have heard rumors that some ROM (I don't know if its one of the the legal ones or not) now has SDHC support. If we can just get someone to make a simple driver for the ax then we can plop in a 32gig SDHC and a 16gig CF for a total of 48gigs of space. YEEEEEHHHHAAAAWWW!!!! Multimedia Madness here i come!

You are correct. :D

SDHC support is merely a driver issue. If you want SDHC support you can download Makuu Revision of Footballs A17 ROM. It provides SDHC support and CF support. And is much faster and smaller than A12. And yes it is considered legal since it is a modified version of WM 5.

Here's the link to the thread: :approve:

There must be a way, to take the drivers for sdhc out of wm6 and put them into wm5. They are pretty much the same os.

Of course I guess thats like asking to take usb drivers from an xp machine and put them on a 98, for pnp ability, which doesnt work. Tried it :hide:

I'm pretty sure another user at xda dev, Maglite has put out a SDHC driver revision cab!! I haven't installed the cab and I'd recommend going to XDAdevelopers and researching it a bit more

These drivers did not work on my X51V (A12). I had to restore the old drivers to get SD functionality back. However makuu just posted drivers here...

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x...2-3-1-rom.html

that work for me.
