RiData 16GB 233x CF card

Just saw that this RiData 233x 16GB CF card was available on Newegg.com. Anyone here try it? I know it won't make much difference in the Axim itself, but 233x seems pretty fast, especially compared to the 40x 16GV A-Data card tha is also available. At $165.99 vs the A-DATA which goes for $127.99, it might be too much of a premium.

Everything I've read about storage cards and pocket pcs seems to indicate that the pocket pcs are not designed to take advantage of faster cards and so, unless you have a camera or other piece of equipment that would benefit from these faster cards, it is not worth the extra $$s to get the faster cards. I've read that sometimes pocket pcs can even have a hard time working with the faster cards because of the speed differences.

Of course, this is all anecdotal, since I've never run any of my own tests.

Just copied off my 8G Sandisk Ultra to one of the Newegg.com, A-DATA 16G CF and so far all looks just fine. Hardest part, waiting for the CF's to copy to and from the PC cardreader...

OOPS...I may have gotten too excited too soon... started having some funny things going on. Went back to the Sandisk 8G ultra CF while I reformat and reload the 16G.

For now I'd sat that caution is the watchword.

update:

Looks asthough the 16G card may work fine after all. Turns out after investigation I needed to do a hard reset and then built the system on the 8G Sandisk and made a mirror of it on the 16G Adata and it seems to be working fine now. Geez, I sure wish I knew where all these serial numbers and registered information were stored so if I have to do it again, perhaps I can just copy that data back instead of urnning eallet to get the reg data...... Oh well.

FWIW
