Cheap 16GB CF & SD in UK.

I can afford to get a new large memory card in december so i'm going to get a 16GB CF. I went to a website that i've been watching for a while now and was amazed at how far the price had dropped, but the biggest surprise was that they had fairly cheap 16GB SD-HC cards too. With the third party drivers to run SD-HC on my X51v I could get both and have 32GB! I'm very tempted.

I'm definately going to get at least one and I reckon it will be a CF for the reasons that 1, its cheaper, and 2, I worry that they might stop making them soon now SD cards are becoming so big.

Anyway I will have to wait until december but I figured I would give a heads-up to anyone in the UK thats looking for a high capacity card.

PEAK 16GB Compact Flash Card £68.78

PEAK 16GB SD-HC Card £87.38

I should point out to anyone that doesn't know that the SD-HC card will only work in a Dell Axim X51v with 3rd party drivers. If you don't have one of these pda's or if you do but you are not willing to flash your device then don't get this card because it won't work.

Whoa! Thats freaking awesome I didn't know 16GB SDHC is out! I mean SanDisk just released 8GB Micro-SDHC! Thats just amazing! On a different note are the Peak cards reliable. I never heard of them. So if I were you I would be cautious.

Well there's an even cheaper 16GB SD-HC in the US at newegg.com. Its a patriot card going for $144.99. Its so cool how cheap this type of memory is becoming.:) I've only ever heard of the Peak cards being used in an ipod where a guy took out whatever memory was originaly in there and replaced it with peak solid state cards, he said it worked fine but then again that was an ipod.

16GB Patriot Card.

32 GB CF Memory Card

You gan be better off buying the 32 GB card here un the US.

Just stick it in and you will have a solid state "hard disk" in your axim.

Check out this link.

Newegg.com - A-DATA 32GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model SPEEDY CF 32G - Retail

I will be waiting for the 64 GB cards to come out this spring.
