What the SD card reader problem!?
Hey everyone! I haven't posted in a long time, but I'm glad to be back. Anyways, I have been using a Sandisk 1 gb card forever, ever since I got my X30. Along with it I have been using this card reader I bought off of tigerdirect. It has always worked great! Transfers files quickly and effeciently and has never had any problems. Well I bought a new 2 gb SD card and popped it in the card reader but it didn't recognize it was there. So I returned the card thinking it was defective and bought another different card. I took THAT one home and popped it in, the card reader didn't recognize it either, but it STILL recognizes my ORIGINAL card, the 1 gb Sandisk. So I have concluded that the card reader is just fried, sound right to you guys? I didn't pay that much for the card reader and I have been using it over two years. Maybe it's just time to get a new one. Your thoughts? Anyone else experienced this problem before? Thanks guys

Yes, time for a new one, the older card readers often don't read newer cards. Keep the old one for your original card and then you can move things from one card to the other.

Was it a SDHC card? This new format can only be read by card readers which specifically support the SDHC format. Did the cards work in your device? If your device didn't see them they were probably SDHC cards.

Yeah, I've read about those sdhc cards. That wasn't the case this time. My pda recognized the card, but the card reader didn't. But hey! Tomorrow I'll be able to find a card reader cheap!

there's never had 2GB -HC cards
your card reader is too old
it's about time to grab a new, which supports -HC
