Formatting a 2G SD card

I am re loading software... probably everything into my hp 4705. Now that I have deleted everything on my 2 G standard SD card I am wondering if I should FAT 32 format it, or use another format?

Also does it make a difference for the CF card?

I strongly advice you to test the time to copy several hundred files (say the \windows folder) to your empty card with a standard 2 FAT format and and compare that with a 1 FAT format.

I measured a 3:1 speed increase in two cases.

But if you intend to mainly use huge MP3 files on your card then that test has no value.
