RiDATA 8GB Pro 150X = SLO....W

This card used to scream... I have ALWAYS used it with my Lexar USB 2.0 Multi-Card Reader and For the first few months I was able to transfer my entire mp3 sync folder to it in about 25min. Now trying to transfer just a couple gigs of mp3's it's telling me over an hour... I'm wondering if the formatting got screwed up some how... haven't been able to find how it should be formatted to be like OEM from factory... I have used @KillDisk to write zeros and then reformat... and still have lost every bit of performance from this thing... I have also tried a fresh reinstallation of my windows xp source to see if maybe drivers had been muffed by an update or something... but also of no consequence... pretty frustrating to have a 150X card perform at what feels like 10x at best... If someone could just point me in the right direction I'd be very appreciative!

this thing does not get removed/replaced very often and I've only had it for a little over a year (08/2007)... do they go bad that quickly? This is my first CF card, so somewhat new to the technology...

Well I have a PNY 266X CF card and entire folders have suddenly disappeared and it's only a few months old. I don't know why this happens. I guess i'll be going back Sandisk.
