Rant- A-Data Sucks!!!!

So my SD card has a lifetime warranty right? When it went belly up, I tried to exercise that warranty and this is what I get:

"According to the problem you mentioned, the card should be need repair.
Please go back to the store where you bought it for repair service.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions."

I respond with:

"I have had this card for so long that I don't even remember where I purchased it. Doesn't it have a lifetime warranty? I would like you to replace it for me."

And get back:

" If you can’t get the repair/replace service from the store you bought it, only A-DATA headquarters in Taiwan can provide the repair service if it is within the warranty term and without physical damage. If you need our service, please provide the 13-18 code on the back of the SD card. And provide the receipt of the card for us to identify the warranty information. Also please provide clear front and rear pictures of the card for us to identify the product situation first. And inform us what country you live now.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Why can't they just give me an RMA # and let me send it back? Receipt? Pictures? What the crap!

Moral of the story- BUY AMERICAN!

That's how they offer the lifetime warranty. Offer the world, but make the user have to jump so high they won't use it. It's a sad state of affairs in this country, and this greed and uncaring attitude toward the customer has caused much of the economic decline that we've seen.

A year back I had a problem with a Viking card and one 2 minute call had them send a prepaid mailer to me for returning the card, and I when I opened the package they had a brand new replacement inside, and a note asking the old card returned. Now that's service, and why I still buy their products.

My 4 GB Turbo SD card just separated on the leading edge with pins and my Ax will not read it. So I just asked them for support.
My Axim is a little window to the big world.

Let us know how that goes. Did they tell you to take it back to the original retailer?
