Worried 4 GB Not Recognized

I just received a Kingston 4 GB SD card. It says HC High-Capacity Memory Card class 4

My Axim X51v is not acknowledging/recognizing it as inserteda at all. I know the Axim is fine because I've inserted 256 MB, 1 GB and 2 GB cards and there's not problem with them - all recognized properly. Do I have/should format that card on my PC prior to inserting?

The X51v doesn't natively recognize SDHC cards.

There is a thread somewhere here that links you to the SDHC driver you need.

Hi mkss55442,

I had performed a search, but didn't see it come up. Yes, I found it and will try to see if it works. I thought the 4 GB card was a regular card and forgot that a HC card would not work. Bummer - not sure if I can return it since it comes in those sealed plastic containers, even though I very carefully cut off the sealing surface.
:(

You can also get an SDHC to CF adapter. I have one of those and my X50v can read SDHC cards without a problem in the CF slot.

Skier7667,
No reason why it shouldn't work as long as you're applying the patch to an x51v with the A12 ROM. It works great on my x51v with several brands of 4GB SDHC cards.
