writing to a cf card

Occasionally people will ask how long does it take to write a 1 hr program to a cf card or a question along those lines...

I have my 2G Sandisk ultra card... in my computer now...
I am using a windows media center PC with built in card reader
mytv2go and I am writing the blue collar comedy tour and some TCM movie that i cant think of the name right now.
I started it this morning around 8:45
it is now 4:30
all of blue collar comedy tour is on the card.
it says that 989mb are writtien which what it says the size of the 2 files is...
but it isnt finished yet.
Maybe by 5:30 it will be finished

I would safely say that the transfer isn't going to complete :)
At least not on the Windows side....I'd just pull the card and see if the files are there and functional.

you're not doing something silly like using activesync to copy the files across are you?

Seriously a Card reader will be much quicker, and at usb2 speed it will fly
