Magic Files

I have an rx3715 and a K data 1Gb SD card - when i try and delete the files off the sd card they reappear. I have tried deleting them in the ipaq when in a card reader and have also used file shredder but all are of no use - the files keep reappearing. I have also used various formatting programs and none of them seem to make any difference - I don't remember specifying anything about preserving the files and the lock tab on the card is off- anybody got any suggestions.
