Hi there! Has anyone bought the Lexar Media 1 GB Secure Digital Memory Card (SD1GB-231)? If so, does it work with your x30? I'm thinking of purchasing it, but I think the last day for the rebate is 11/13/04. Amazon is selling it for $78.

Thanks!

1) part FSD 1GBU - cheaper, R/W speed is 6/4.8 MB
2) part FSD 01GU - 25% more, R/W speed 11/7.5 MB

Firstly, can anyone tell me when someone says x times speed, what the relationship is to MB, e.g., what does 40X mean in MB R/W speed?

Secondly, what is a reasonable requirement to set for reading/writing mp3s, without a card reader, using Activesync with USB2? Perhaps the first one is good enough for me?

I suppose it's possible I might buy a new digital cam in the near future, about 5 megapixels. If I might want to use the card in that, would it be better to get the faster one now?

Basically, I'm looking for ideas on how to set requirements :) TIA.

I think the "X" is = to 150kb/s so multiply by 40 and 40X =6Mb/s What I would like to know is
how fast can each different version of axes read and write to these cards cf and sd ?

Thanks for the info. I could try timing the write of some mp3s to my 128MB twinmos ultra-X.

The $20 rebate on Lexar's 1GB 32x SD card is now available. Total cost after rebate is $66. Not bad...

1gb fast Lexar or Kingston, price has dropped so much if you're buying it makes sense to buy a 1gb.

I too am looking for an SD card. I am looking to buy a 1g since the prices are so low for what you get. Also a bit confused as to why we need to make this thread so long... wouldn't a poll or two sufice? I am new to my Ax, but on my camera speed seems to be important to me. Overall the bottom line is that i am driven by the price of the card.
