Kingmax SD Platinum 1GB problem

I just got this SD card and spent a couple of hours loading everything on it, the next day when i turned on my Axim it asked if i wanted to format the card because it couldn't read it.... frustrated with my wasted time i did so, but alas, that was no solution, everytime i turn back on the Axim it wants to format the card, no matter if i've loaded stuff on it or not. Do i have a bad card, or is there some suggestion someone has? Anyone else have a similar experience? I only read good reviews of this card before i got it....

Welcome to Aximsite,

Did you try to soft reset the PPC and reinsert the card to see the reaction? If this do not work go to the vendor's website for futher info from them. Other software may be available from them to help you format.

Thanks,
I just got my Axim about a month ago, this site has been indispensable.
I did try soft resets, but nothing, and i didn't find anything on their site, which is why i posted here to see if anone else has had similar problems, but i also e-mailed Kingmax's tech support, so i guess we'll see.

I have this exact problem man. My Kingmax 60x Platinum 1GB Card seems to intermittently want to reformat. If I take out my card and reinsert, it works fine, but this is sort of annoying, since programs that are reading or writing to the sd Card might have horrible issues with this problem.

Does anyone have this card and NOT have this problem at all? If so, did you do anything special to the card before putting it into the axim?

Hopefully someone out there has a solution?

This seems to be a relatively common problem with the Kingmax in the X30. With mine, I found that if I select cancel when the format question comes up, and the turn the X30 off and on again the SD card registers correctly.

That said, I found it annoying and sent it back.

Hey,
I've got the Kingmax 60x Platinum 1GB Card and I've never had a problem with it. It's nice to be able to load 4 or 5 movies on 1 card; kills time in the airports waiting for my next flight. :)

I'm having the same exact issue! Should I send mine back to NEWEGG or is there a new way to format the card? It seems as if I let the PC go to sleep and then turn it back on... "WOULD U LIKE TO FORMAT!" Very annoying.

I also have the Kingmax 1gb 60x card, and have no problems at all. Maybe it is an x30 problem, with this card. I am using an X3i.

I've had this problem with a couple of my SanDisk cards. Ended up having to return them.

Just bought a new KINGMAX card from newegg and sent my old one back. *crosses fingers* If this one gives me a headache, what are the next suggestions?

sandisk, rosewill, etc.?
