kingmax 1 gb trouble

I am currently using a kingmax 1 gb card 60x speed. i have no problems reading or writing to the card, but after the card is in my axim, it reads as only having 500 mb free, and can't read the files on the card. Removing and reinserting the card solves this, but does anyone know what is wrong, or have this problem as well?

I've been planning to get that same card from newegg, so I'd like to know the answer to that question!

do soft reset...and see if it resolve your problem. if not it maybe ur card.

i have a 1 gb lexar card...and i copy hugh files to my sd card constantly and i do notice from time to time...it gives me incorrect size reading even though i what the size should be. just disregard the incorrect reading....a soft reset should resolve the problem.

The card works great and is really fast on transfers, both from the axim and of course through card reader.
I still haven't figured out what the hell causes the axim to quit recognizing the card. It seems like after a few hours, it just stops recognizing it, and ejecting the card or resetting is the only solution.

Sometimes instead of completely not recognizing it, it shows like 500 meg card, and doesn't show the things already stored in the card. Also, formatting it during this time(when its showing 500mb total storage) does nothing to the card like destroying the data.
Anyone with this card have this problem or is it just me?

I am kind of having the same problem. It is always registering the correct size, as far as i can tell.... but a couple of times it wasn't registering the card at all. Pulling the card out and re-inserting it has worked. so it isn't a big deal.

Yeah, i'll just live with it. Card reader has no problem and axim reads off it fast as hell. Glad I bought it, even if it will force me to pull it out and put it back in someties.

I had a Kingmax card and returned it. I think is is too thin and loses contact with ppc. My other cards are thicker.

I am really torn. This card is LIGHTNING FAST!!!!!! both in my USB2 cardreader and in the axim for movies, etc.... BUT. this not recognizing is bugging me. It makes me worried to put sensitive material, and programs that i use everyday on it... of course, that was why i bought it, to free up the system memory.

I did a couple of quick searches, and i cannot find any SD card that is even close to price AND 60X, so i guess i will tough it out. I suppose down the line, i could replace it, and use it for my digital camera. 2,000 Pictures anyone?

After doing a full format of the card through my card reader, my problems with the axim misreading the card are gone. This card is incredibly fast, I think you'll be pleased.
