I have a LEXAR 1GB Fast 32X SD and was wondering if leaving the card in 24/7 is recommended or are there any drawbacks and should it be taken out after use?
I can't say specifically about your card, but I've used a Compact Flash card for years in my old HP Jornada 540 without taking it out more than 4-5 times total. Never lost any data or had any problems.
I plan to leave my 1Gb Kingston 60x SD card in my Axim X30H unless I want to move it to another digital device for temporary storage or file transfer, just as I did with the old CF/Jornada combination.
I also figure it's best not to handle (insert/remove/etc) the card more than necessary. Less chance of static electricity and physical damage that way.

I leave mine in for normal use, but lately, since the Kingmax 60X i take it in and out alot, as i have transfered several movies on and off the card. Very fast card.

reading/writing to it will use batterty power but the drainage is so slight you wouldn't notice. Not to mention it will need to be in the device for reding/writing anyway :p
So yeah you can leave it in as long as you like. In fact, it's probably better because it will stop dirt from getting in.
