Is there a general consensus on the best brands?
I know when buying cdr's I found alot of consistency in what brands were reliable, but it seems to me that I've read about problems from Lexar, Kingmax, Sandisk. I don't think I've seen much if anything on Dane-Elec, Kinsgson, Legacy, Viking or PNY. And then there are the big names like Panasonic and Kodak. Are any of these known for being consistently reliable?
I prefer to do my research up front, because I have a bad habit of not doing anything until the exchange period expires. Thanks, Mischa

sandisk has had some problems in the past. though i have not seen as many issues with their cards in quite a while. considering how many cards they sell it only makes sense they would have a proportional number of problems.
lexar, pqi, pny, viking all seem to be good brands with relatively few troubles. the best thing to look for is a brand that will give you a warranty of at least five years. some even give a lifetime warranty. at least with the warranty you can get a new card if yours dies.
