Choose SD card for Axim x30

I just got my new Axim X30. I want to buy a SD card to extend the memory of my axim. I noticed many different types of SD cards in the market, 32X, High Speed, and 60X. Does speed of SD card matters a lot to Axim? Please share your expirence with SD card choices, espacially regarding their speeds. thanks

Bumping, since I'm in the market for a 512 or 1 GB and wondering the same thing.

I have the Kingmax 1GB 60X Platinum and it's great. I bought a simple $8.00 SD card reader so I won't have to put up with the slow speed of active sync.

I just received my SanDisk 1GB SD card. It's the normal SD card, not any "Ultra" or "32x" or "60x". It's working fine. I've used it to play video and music as well as store a bunch of programs. I don't notice any slowness, but maybe that's because I'm used to SanDisk.

Does anyone know what the Read/Write speed is on the normal Sandisk 1GB SD card or where I can find that info? Thanks.

Sandisk doesn't list the specs for that card on their website, but I believe it is 13.5x .... try googling the part number, although most retailers seem to not be advertising it either

Should be fast enough for normal use. I would go with 32x or higher IF also being used in a digital camera and for faster transfers in a USB reader.

Yep, I looked on SanDisk's website and didn't see any info on Read/Write speeds, that why I asked.

I guess it's pretty freaking slow becasue if it was fast they would have made that known and part of their advertising.

Hey FallN! Thanks for your help. I want a bigger memory card than the 256 I have because I'd like to watch movies and such on it (the VGA x5 sure would be awesome for that) so I was thinking 2GB or bigger when the 4GB cards become available and cheaper. I can get a sandisk 2GB SD card for $188.

Or would you guys get a 1GB and another 1GB if you needed it? 1GB cards are running around $75.

I ordered 2 60X Kingmax Platinum cards from Newegg. Only used one so far and it's working fine. Apparently not all SD card speeds are representative. I'm not aware of any comparison tests of the faster 1GB SD cards anywhere though. I'm using mine mostly to store GPS maps, videos and games and it works fine like I said earlier.
