Formatting SD card
Does anyone know if there is a way to format a storage card (SanDisk 256mb SD card) on an Axim X30H? Or via use of Activesync?

i have data stored on my sd card that is inaccessible. i had music, pictures and a pocket excel worksheet on it but somehow lost all the files. But, they still show up as used memory on the card. I can store new stuff and this new stuff can be accessed. i want to format the card in hopes that i can regain storage capacity on the card. there are no files to delete to regain this capacity. it's as if the old data is partitioned off and i can't get to it.

Use either Pocket Mechanic or Storage Tools. A google search for either will lead to a download link.

Resco Explorer will also format cards. Tap and hold card folder and select Properties\Format.

Resco Explorer will format SD cards, but I like Storage Tools because it offers more formatting options. You can choose the file system and cluster size for optimal performance with your SD card. Plus, you can chose not to backup the FAT, which I have found to be very helpful. I've gotten the best results choosing FAT16, 4 KB for cluster size, and unchecking the Backup FAT box.
