Switching from a 512M to 1G SD Card

Do I just copy the contents of the old card to the new card using a card reader? Will programs work from the new card, or do they need to be reinstalled? This is for a Dell X50v. Thanks.

Copying the data as is to the new card will work as I did this from a 256 to a 512. I had no problem at all.

i did the same from SD to CF, and it worked fine...
