Video on a MD?
I have hard stories about some microdrives not being fast enough to play divx/xvid files. Is this true? If not which cards will/not work?

Solid-state cards are faster but a microdrive will work just fine.

If in the market for a large CF card I would go with a solid-state card over a microdrive.

The microdrives use more power due to moving parts and are more likely to suffer damage from any heavy bumps or small drops. I prefer to not have to baby the cards all the time

using an hx4700 w/1.5mb/s video you will see about a 5% increase in performance with a microdrive vs lexar pro 80x CF card (using betaplayer benchmark) The only reason i don't have one is because they aren't as relaible

but you will also see as much as a 20% drop in battery life with the microdrives too so its give and take either way. Personally I prefer a big flash card...they are more reliable and have a much longer mean time to failure.
