256MB ought to be big enough, depending on how the file was compressed. I don't think PC-sized (700MB) video files can really run on Axims, but I haven't tried the newer models.

As indicated by Astounded_EEG, it depends on how you prepare the file. Some folks shrink full-length movies down to a few hundred Megs. Others try to use 5-7 hundred. It depends on the quality you want. Generally, my advice is to buy the biggest card you feel you can afford.

I have tried large files on my X50v without any problems but since you (fostermom) have an X30, I'm not sure.

Nice to see you back Astounded! :)

I agree with socpsy ( ). The bigger, the better. With the price of storage cards falling, you can catch a weekly sale that puts a 1GB card in the $70 range (after a possible rebate).

By the way, I have Nemo, Top Gun, and the Iron Giant all on one 1GB card! :approve:

I guess the seagulls will just have to be close enough. :)

700MB .xvid files encoded with fairuse run fine on X30's. So fine one of my colleagues took one of my 1GB cards on vacation with him to show to some goverment officials where he's going. Sorry I can't divulge the name of the country.
