Weird behaviour on a Axim X30H.

Okay I have two SD cards. a 512Mb by Kingston and 1Gig Viking card.

After my Axim trashed the Kingston, I formatted as FAT32. The Viking is formatted to FAT. Both display weird behaviour.

On the Kingston, deleteing large files on the X30 takes ages, the larger the file the longer it takes..for a 150MB file it can take a minute or more. Any program that writes to the card a lot (like the new Avantgo) slows to a crawl. Read speeds seem uneffected and deleting files in my card reader shows no slow delete problems.

The problem with the Viking is that my X30 refuses to see any files that I've transferred over to the card using my card reader unless I do a soft reset..it can then see the files. Deleting files on the X30 is fast with the Viking card. It doesn't effect fils transferred ober by activesync.

Any ideas on how to solve these problems?

Regarding your slow deletion problem on the Kingston, this is something I see on my 256MB when deleting files from the Axim. So your Axim is not isolated in this. Not sure what causes it though.

For the Viking card, are you in file explorer with the storage card folder open when you put in the card? If so, you would need to refresh the folder somehow to view the files. Have you tried iserting the card when the unit is off? Does it require a soft reset then?

Instead of doing a soft reset, try just closing what ever you are trying to view the files with and opening it back up. See if that makes a difference.

It doesn't sound like a problem with the cards as you are able to use/view them somehow.

I sometimes find that I need to "suspend" my X30 for a moment and then "revive" it if I switch cards.
