Real test:
copy 10mb file from ram to sd (exactly 10mb - 10485760 bytes)
Kingston 512MB SD - time 36.8 sec
Pny 1GB - time 12.9 sec (about 0.77 mb/sec)
Pny is much faster in loading or saving programs on my pocketpc.
Pocket mechanic for speed card test? - forget.

Aha. But here is the fatal flaw in your logic. How often are you copying 10MB files to your SD card using your Axim? Very rarely. Even in the ATP test document (I can't recall the webpage, but if you search here, you'll find it), some cards run very much slower with smaller amounts of data versus larger amounts of data. If I remember correctly, the Sandisk card in that test had the worst write speeds with smaller files of any in the test.
Most of your files that you create and save on your Axim will be of the smaller variety. You won't be copying 10MB files. So although your card may handle a large data flow relatively well, where it really counts, it's probably sucking wind.
