Ask Segate Why create Muvo2 Segate 5G Cann't use on X50v

========== Customer's original message ==========

================================================== ======
I use segate 5G Microdrive in my Pda(Dell Axim X50v),but it cann't found
in pda os.
And the other problem, segate 5G microdrive in my notebook build cf reader
cann't be found in my device manager,and file manager.
But I use external card reader,I can find this segate 5G device.
How can I use segate 5G microdrive in my notebook build in cf reader and
pda?
================================================== ======

========== Seagate Answer ==========
These drives have not yet been released in standard distribution.
Therefore, your drive must have come from a product manufactured by one of
our OEM customers.

OEM = Drives sold to ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS
Example: (Dell, Gateway, IBM, Compaq, HP, Sun etc.)

When Seagate manufactures drives for OEM's, we design these drives to
their custom specifications. These design changes can cause the drive to
operate differently than standard distribution drives.

Since our OEM customers consider these design changes proprietary
information, Seagate retains no information on these drives. Therefore, we
cannot offer support for these drives.

OEM drives are supported by the OEM that ordered the drives.

This mean my seagate 5G MD does not have any chance to use on my X50v.

I can't understand if you're asking a question, making a statement, or looking for help. Both your message and subject title are confusing.

Could you clarify the intent of your post?

I understand that the Seagate 5GB drive isn't working in your Axim or Notebook, but does work with a card reader.

And I understand that Seagate told you that these drives aren't intended for use in anything other than the original device you ripped the drive out of.

Thanks in advance for some clarification on this post.
