It usually doesn't matter what brand. I've used PQI, Toshiba, Sandisk, among others and haven't encountered any problems as of yet.

I haven't seen any complaints regarding CF technology of any kind since I joined Aximsite last October...it's the SD cards and CF microdrives (especially those taken from mp3 players) that have caused problems. So, I'd say you are pretty safe with whatever CF card you can get for the lowest price.

Very nice adobe article, very creative. However, how many of us are technical vs consumers? Your results would be good with an irtroduction and summary of what you recommend and why. Folks like us respect your knowledge but you may have to translate it for us regular folks. Thanks!

I'm also looking at the Kingston 1gig CF cards. Now I'm just trying to decide between the high speed and "regular" speed cards. The difference is about $20. I guess not a lot of $$ in the long run, but I've spent quite a bit on the Axim already and every little bit saved helps.

Just bought a normal (not Elite Pro) Kingston 1GB. Don't know the speeds, works OK.

I bought a Kingston 1 gig CF card about a month ago and there is an issue with some of them. If it is assembled in Japan there will be a problem and your Axim won't recognize it. You can look at the back of the packaging and it should indicate where it was assembled - the one I bought at Office Max did at least. Anyway, if your card assembled somewhere other than Japan those cards seem to work fine.
