power drain for Microdrives, etc.???

i would assume that MicroDrives are compatible with the Axim x50v, right?

if so, would this be a good buy, compared to a similar-sized CF or SD card? (i find that MicroDrives sold in Japan are quite cheaper, and also come in higher capacity)

also, what is the power drain on this things - i would surmise that these drives would completely suck my device dry...? (i would wonder for how long)

Yes, they are compatible with the X50v.

Go with which ever will give you the most storage for your money. I prefer one large card to a couple smaller ones. Since microdrives have moving parts they will use more power then storage card that are solid state.

Most don't seem to mind the small amount of additional power usage. Never hurts to have a second battery anyway.

thanks for the reply... havent gotten to read it until now since i forgot to have sent the notification to "instant email"...

i wonder how long would the Axim last when using a MicroDrive? the X50V usually lasts about 3 to 4 hours straight (minimal WiFi, and with the brightness TWO notches)...
