unexpected hard reset...pocket mechanic

I didn't know what a hard reset exactly was... until I installed Pocke Mechanic 1.57.
Tried one of its options (don't remember which) and... voila, no data in my X50v, but a couple of PDF in the SD card.
Beware this program...

Sorry for your loss. But remember ALWAYS BACKUP!
Sprite backup is an amazing program, you can schedual it so it automatically backs up for you.

I think an earlier version of PM was designed to trigger a hard-reset when an "unpurchased" unlock code was entered. I heard this was removed from PM a few versions ago, but perhaps not??

Nope.. same thing just happened to me.
Downloaded the trial version to format my new 1 gig card, formatted with no problem (logical format)...I was clicking around the options (if you single click it shows you the description at the bottom), as soon as I tapped "Low Level Format" boom - hard reset.. no warning.

I was backed up so it's not a big issue.. but BE CAREFUL.

btw I didn't try to put in a reg. code so that has nothing to do with what happened (in my case anyway)

A newer version has just been posted. 1.58. Perhaps this fixes that bug?

Just guess what a hard reset is anyways. Reformat the RAM disk and then reload an image from ROM.

Even so..that's not how it does it.
Also, I didn't actually select the option.. I was simply moving around the menu. There's no question that it should not have happened.
That's like opening your uninstall menu and as you scroll down the list it yanks every single one you highlight without even confirming.

It's a very powerful program but it has issues... I guess that comes with the territory. No harm done.
