An awfull accident

While switching out my 1 gb cf card (Kingston) to place my CF GPS Unit into my x50v the other day I placed my card in the cup holder of my 200 Ford Taurus.

The following day I went to retreive my card (loaded with files, pics and many mp3s) I slid it up the side of the cup holder to gain better grip. As I slid it up near the top to grab it with my opposable thumb, the damn thing disapeared. Apparantly there is a hole large enough to fit a CF Memory card.

Where does the hole lead to you ask? Well my estimation is that my CF card is stuck somewhere in the floorboards of the car underneath the center console.

Has this (or anything similar) happened to anyone else?

You can definitely take it apart to get to the car. Be a modder and get working on that car!

I'd just call up my redneck friends to help pick the car up turn it up side down and shack the "memory outin' it".

While you have the console off, scope it out to see if there is enough space to fit a 500W inverter so you can run standard 115VAC equipment in your car.
Also, don't drop your CF card in the cupholder; it's nasty!!

Just think how much more you'll value that card once you've found it; and, discovered a few things about how your car is put together to boot. I see this as a major opportunity.....

I appreciate all of your support. I'll have you all know that after about 6 minutes of effort the card was safely back in its "home slot" atop mt X50v.

Moral of the story: Keep a small Tupperware in the console.
