Empty 512 SD

Being a PDA Axim X5 newbie just wondering if someone can figure this out. I still can't figure out why my 512 SD card remains empty (I added it when internal and CF card were almost full)and I can't move Files or programs to it. Must be missing a step or possibly it needs formatting. I thought I could make space on internal memory by moving it to SD but Axim still has me trying to figure that out, as well as which programs must stay on internal. Since memory is supposed to be managed automatically, I don't know why nothing has been moved to SD card. Thanks, Bob

Have you formatted the card. Try this first and see if the data moved to it.

Yes the format from the card reader will be sufficient. Format as F32.

Have you checked if the little switch on the side of the SD card is on LOCK?

Hi, olopbob. You should try to reload programs from scratch and put them on the SD card. When moving program files, they don't always work. Now if you have just plain data files you want to move or copy you should be able to go into file explorer, find the files on your internal memory and copy or move the files to your new card. If this is not clear or you have more questions, people here are always willing to help in anyway they can. Just keep asking. And good luck, bud.

Are you thinking the Axim will automatically move files there?
It won't.
You should create a My Documents folder on the card (or copy the My Documents from main memory, and delete the files you want to keep in main memory).
Then, what you want installed on the new card uninstall, and reinstall selecting the new card for the install location.
Then, copy what ever else you want to the new card.
I would think the card is already formatted, and you can browse it with your file browser on your Axim.
