Great News!!

Who has done the update so far?

We should create a new thread just on this update.

Upgrade went smoothly for me, too. Built-in GPS is fantastic! I've been using BT GPS for years, which is great, but convergence is all about carrying fewer devices and this is a perfect example.

I got my Mogul recently. It is a great replacement for my Axim x51v. With the Simply Everything plan, it's does everything I need it to do: phone, text, documents, planner, free GPS, internet, e-mail...everything.

OK - i did the upgrade before I went on vacation and i am so glad. I needed the GPS and it worked flawlessly. I am still trying to implement the other tweaks but I am loving this unit.

wow I dont post here often but needed to search mogul and found this..

in 1 week I will be getting 2 moguls.. 1 for me and 1 for the wife...

so you can unlock the gps... WOW....

now this is funny..

if you search my name you will find all kinds of ipaq posts from me..

had a ipaq 3850 and loved it..cf gps.. and loved that...
then got a ipaq 3955 for $10 with tons of stuff and navman sleeve!!!! and loved it even more..

now recently I got a ipaq hx4700 and put the wm6 version and used a bt gps... loved that...

now a guy at work has the tmobile wing and i was going to switch to tmobile but am in a contract with sprint until feb 22 09....
so another guy at work got the mogul... it is WAY better than the wing.. even the wing owner says the mogul is better...

so now I am going to get a mogul and was planning on using my new bt logging gps with it.. but hell if I can use the internal ..... SAWEET!!!!!!!!!!

the only thing that turned me off of buying the mogul in the first place is that it is $550.... and sprint said I can upgrade for $400 and $100 MIR for $300... 2 of them is not duable....

guy on ebay is selling me 2.... $250 each with $100 MIR each!!!!!! but I have to choose a data plan ($15 each phone) and new 2 year contract....no biggie as I like sprint anyway.... not sure the wife will like the $100 month cell bill though.... but she will have a pda and so will I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought a Mogul used for $180 in almost perfect condition. My MotoQ crapped out so its getting replaced and sold as I will be keeping this bad boy. Best phone I have ever had. I do wish it had a no camera option though.

Got one!
I got a sprint mogul Tuesday night at the local sprint store. Came from a Dell Axim X5 and X50V. Nice to have something in a small package that does so much!

well an update... I got one brand new from ebay instead of going with the guy I was going to for $192 shipped... $30 for 8gb micro sd and $16 for a windshield mount... the mount isnt here yet...

but over all im loving this unit...
so far I have a mess of apps installed and still tinkering so will be doing a full reset eventually after I figure out what apps to keep and what not to keep.

I used my ipaq for speedometer which doesnt seem to work right on the mogul. both apps I have just lock up.. I downloaded the trial of gps skinner and may just buy that.. plus you can make your own so I can make a HUGE speedo in digit form... ( aka 50mph )

now I did the rom upgrade .... went from 2.1something to 3.5or6something and it is running nice..
now I do not have a dataplan as they want $15 a month and the wife doesnt want me to get it...

so few work arounds...
1. reg hack to disable #777 calling back to sprint for dataplan.
2. called sprint and lady disabled my NAI (whatever that is)

so now I can just use wifi when I find one (and alot are open!!!!)

few other things I installed which are just sick...
1. MagicSS - program button to take .bmp screenshots - all I could find consdering I used the itask button and delayed capture which worked great

2. flashlight.exe - programmed button to turn on camera light as flashlight - very handy as I used my lg fusic (going on ebay) by opening the lid and it was bright....

3. flashing lights disable (reg hack) that stops the green and blue lights....

more to come....

I have a mogul! I have had it for about a month. As a phone I like it well enough. I got a magellan crossover gps around the same time. As a GPS, the sprint does well enough, I like the traffic updates and re-routing on the mogul, and I haven't gotten around to paying for that service on the crossover so I can't compare the 2 yet.

I have a 2 G sdhc card in the phone which it refuses to recognize. I got it to sync with a computer ounce. Haven't been able to do it since. I have 3 computers and it won't sync with any of them. Over the weekend I tried to sync it with a friends computer, which runs vista. It wouldn't sync with that one either.

The internet on it works fine enough but I cannot use it to tether my laptop. Sprint forces you to use the connect card.

I like the phone well enough, it is a enough of a step up from the t-mobile wizard I had before ( I broke the power connector in the base of the phone).

One other thing. The thing is always turning itself on, after you power down the screen and...

I have I have a blueant v12 bluetooth, the one with the caller Id, they pair well enough but bluetooth KILLS the battery. You might get 1 hr of talk time and 2ish of standby time

I still like the phone.

By the way, I got a rubberized case thingy that works really well and a plastic screen protector thingy off ebay for dirt cheap that work really well.
I have all but forgotten the screen protector was on it. But with the rubberized shell it wont fit into any of the cases i have for it.
