Wow, first post in this forum.

I wish Apple would go ahead and release their tablet computer. We all know they've been working on it.

I dunno. Loads of comments that this will never happen, and loads to the contrary.

I just wish Apple would come out with another PDA, especially when they have the corner on handwriting recognition. The Newton.....*smiles*

A tablet would be amazing. Maybe with the new Intel chip we'll see it.

Also rumours about the iPod Video, especially since the current iPod has only ever been called the iPod that can play video. The "leaked" shots of it are amazing. Size of current iPod but with a touch screen.

Let's hope it is true! Could be as much PDA as iPod Video.

A new and updated Newton would be nice! I Photoshopped my dream Apple PDA. Check it out, here. Yes...I think Intel would be perfect for an Apple Tablet.

Steve Jobb's last Apple keynote (yesterday) was sorta disappointing. No full-out video iPod or tablet or anything. :-(

Sweet. Nice one.

Fingers crossed that Apple will come out with something soon. Even just the Video iPod with a full touch screen that will do some basic PDA functions would be enough for me to pick it up in a heart beat!

i'd love to see Apple's take on the portable computing thing.... just becaues they seem to think things though at the design level, and come up with creative solutions.

Apple has patents for everything Usually doesn't mean anything.

But I bet they've got some new gadget (either a Tablet or a PMP) up their sleeve.

Well M$ oragami is a windows newton tablet, of a sort. It'll be curious to see the market's reaction and whether that spurs Apple to dust off their wares. The tricky thing will be positioning this against the iMac mini. How it would differ or be the same could be ...

1. similar price range
2. mini - no screen, tablet does and input but mini has usb, table no
3. mini - 2d/3d graphcs; tables does 2d only, lessor grade
4. mini, table 512-1gb ram at least
5. mini 60-200gb storage, tablet 20-40gb
6. mini - intel based applications, tablet - newton script or similar O-O
7. both WiFi, BT, video out
8. mini - AC/auto-DC, tablet - battery, AC/auto-DC power
9. mini - focus on mobility, tablet - focus on portability
