Right now I'm sitting in Hooter's posting this from my TabletPC using my CDMA/1X connection.

And, no, I'm not so engrossed in the device to not notice the "scenery"!

Well, here we go again. I'm enjoying the scenery at Hooters again.

None of my buddy's were able to get out for a Friday afternoon visit, but I'll survive on my own.

That's too funny... just as an aside...I now have my eye on the Electrovaya Scribbler SC3100 Tablet PC Still scrapping up my pennies rigth now though...

Nice unit, but it's a bit expensive. About comparable to an LE1600.

The real nice thing about Electrovaya's is the battery life.

It seems like all the tablets I really would like to have are on the high end... My current stubborn reasoning is that if I am going to get one, get the one I want, but the sensible side of me (hidden deep down inside my wallet) keeps asking why do I need one of these?

Enjoy! Our infamous hot/humid summer is pretty much here already...

It's been a while since I posted to this thread. I had a busy summer and couldn't get out to Hooters for lunch. That and $$ have been tight since buying a new car AND having my wife out of work.

Anyway... another lunch @ Hooters and another post <heh heh>

So they've brought in EV-DO into my area now and I'd love to upgrade. The EV-DO Aircard is dirt cheap... $45 on a 2 year plan, but the plan is CDN$ 90 per month! That's a little outta my range as a personal expense. I am working on trying to get my Company to cover it but that requires setting up a new position for me and that is a big "If" at the moment. I'll have to live with my 56 kbps CDMA-1X connection for now.

So, swhoutx035, what's the latest on your TabletPC search?

Oh man I'd love to own a tablet but I just can't justify the cost right now.

Why not...you've had every other portable device known to humanity!

Actually you'd probably find it usefull. Since you're coming from a PPC background you're used to using a pen so you'd be less tempted to back-slide to a keyboard. Once you get used to the pen you'll only want to use the keyboard for heavy text entry.
