It will work, but probably will look ugly (the image resizing of the system works terrible). I'll offer a downsized QVGA version soon.
Edit: Sorry to say, but there's no sense in making a QVGA version. The fonts become too tiny to be readable, and if I'd use larger fonts, the space on top would be too crowded...

Wow. Looks good :). Is that skin also available in VGA?
No. But of course it'll will be resized. Fonts are doubled in size on VGA devices, i.e. there's no pixel doubling in this sensitive area anyway.
Oh, almost forgot: There's also a new beta, which is required for this skin because there's been a bug in non-fullscreen screens. It just didn't attrackt attention because the current "part-screens" were aligned to the upper left corner...
I'm gonna see if I can make modified version of this skin tonight that has buttons for changing dir in changer mode and also displays the battery status.
errm....I don't mean to be rude but, I spent a lot of time on the MYPOD skin it is an original design not based on any current music player (apart from the mac style volume bar of course :) )and I am happy to take critisism and suggestions and make changes upon these suggestions. But please don't change my design for me. I know skinning tends to be a free service, I personally use skinning to keep my hand in with graphic design, but when you spend a lot of time and patience on something you usually don't expect people to come and change it. For a few years now I have taken part in many joint forum skinning efforts where a number of people have helped toward a skin not one person alone could complete, but this is different. I am building a list of suggestions and would appreciate it if you would email or PM me yours, then I can add the relevent buttons/ controls etc in line with my original design.

Well I dont mean to be rude either, maybe you could see it as a visual suggestion?
If you dont like people changing your skins you should provide a license with your skins or alteast a simple text file saying so, I'm sure most people would respect that.

...I'll tell you something, if it's free for download & openly editable, it will be altered by someone who really wants to alter it regardless of the fact that it has a 'license' or not.. it's just the way things are, sadly you have to get used to it.
what ever happened to respect for the designer, when I used to create skins for Palm apps everybody sought permission before porting or copying a skin, except for one guy who used to just rip off other peoples skins and he ALWAYS got a verbal bashing from everyone, in fact I had an email last night from a member of the 1src forum asking If I could port the MYPOD skin over to pocket tunes as there had been a bit of interest in the skin over on the other side of the fence I have offered to help someone port it as I have never skinned that app before, it's nice they noticed it and it's nice they asked instead of just going ahead and trying to do it without me knowing.
I've been doing this for a while now and I'm not nieve to the fact people edit skins for there own use but surely the decent thing would be to ask the designer or ask him to do it. The alternative is to start making skins and charging for them and then sueing anyone who breaches copyright but that kind of defeats the whole object of a skinning community, I have charged for skins in the past but only a couple and they took so much of my time I decided they should be worth something.
Now I have said my piece. I have sent a text file to be added to the skin on the Mort site basically asking that people don't alter the design but email me with their requests and ideas, that's not too much to ask.
Lets not drag this issue on anymore please. Lets just get on with making amazing skins.
Martin. :approve:
the MYPOD skin is now available on the mort player website
on THIS PAGE
ENJOY. post feedback here.
first of all - great looking skin
New to mortplayer but love the potential. I am having problems with any skin looking like the screen shots. running on X51v A06 ROM, latest mortplayer. I have mortplayer in a folder with skin folders 'below' this. the .mps file are in the same folder a mortplayer and skin bitmaps in seperate folders. i set the path and i 'see' the various skins listed. selecting any one seems to be missing like the main background image or something.
I too am having trouble with Mort Player. I don't know what I did, but no matter what, if I have MP running the screen shuts off within 2 seconds regardless of skin.

Hi,
I know how you feel. I made my CleanGlass skin for mortplayer (in another thread), and people started editing it from all directions. I don't mind that - it takes the hard work of making hundreds of corrections due to requests. However, what I did to make sure people still recognised that I was the one who spent a lot of time to create the skin was to make a header in the .mps file, and an additional text file, saying that I created the skin, and noone was allowed to remove this header. It has stuck to the file so far :)
I've used and enjoy both the cleanglass and mypod skins and am thankful tho both of you for your work. Don't get too upset with others editing your skins, remember that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

the mps file should go into the folder where you have the program as a file not in the skin folder(HD,CF,SD etc) and the theme folder should go in to the same folder but as the named folder, don't pull the images out. so in the mort player folder you should have all the sub folders of your themes and with them all the mps files of each theme.
Are there some directions, or at least starting directions for someone to make their own MortPlayer skins somewhere?
I tried looking at the MortPlayer site, but it has just s little too much in German for me to find this.
