How to change "Calendar" & "Contacts" shorcut at bottom of Today screen?

How do you remove the "Calendar" and "Contacts" shortcuts at the bottom of the Today screen. Or how can you change the links to something else. Is there a registry modification/hack that I can do?

you can't remove them, but you can change what they do. Do a search for 'softkeys applet' here on AximSite and you will find a nifty little program that will let you change them to a number of things. I have the 2 softkeys mapped to hardware buttons. Using the softkeys applet, I changed the softkeys to point to the cascading startmenu and the WisBar task manager, which makes one handed use much easier. As a result, I actually like the softkeys.

SOrry... that link was working just a few days ago (2/1/2006). The other link seems to be valid.
