New skins for Windows Media Player 10 Mobile:

Here's an iPod look-a-like. It is modeled after the new video iPods and Nanos.
All artwork was created at 480x640, so the VGA version looks sharp on VGA devices.

Jeff,
I purchased the skin, however, I was hoping the skin would show the whole picture of the ipod not with the wheel cut-off in haft and your skin does not show video wmv nor album art like other skins I purchased or from free download..
:-(

I suggest you give these important details first...So people will know what they get with what they pay for.

Sorry for the confusion. In the details of the site I list that the skin is an audio only skin. I've thought about making a second one that has coverart/video but havent gotten to it yet. I'll include it in the package once complete.

There is a difficult problem in making the ipod design fit into a much, much shorter space. Something has to give. I chose to cut off the wheel in order to display a larger screen area for music details. I wish WMP went fullscreen. I'll also look into making an alternate layout with the complete wheel. That is a bit more work though. I'll send out the updates once these additions are complete.

There is now an alternate design that does not cut the wheel off at the bottom. Also included in the package are skins that support cover art and video.

Jeff, Many thanks for your responsive support. I received the new version. It looks good. I see the problem with WMP10 is the skinned player can not go full screen, the top and bottom bars eat up lot of screen real estate.

Yes, as a skin designer, that is my biggest issue with WMP. It does not allow for full screen skin mode. I would love to have the extra screen real estate to work with. Actually, WMP's skinning engine is very limited compared to the other players. It gives you very few funtions, tag options, etc...

I would also like to see the screen layout change if video/cover art are not present. Currently if you define an area for video/coverart, then playback some music without cover art. You have a blank hole. Ideally the text would slide over making more room for it. Similarly if you play video it would be great to be able to define the whole now playing area as the video area. But, again, that would not work if you tried to playback music, you wouldn't have any space for tag definitions.

Damn limitations... I use it though because it plays back protected WMA files without issue. It works well with my Rhapsody subscription.

This skin gives you the looks of an iPod, but WMP is in no way as slick as one.
