How do I turn off the little white divider line that separates the today screen plugins?

Unfortunately you can't. The best you can do is to use a theme editor and change the color of the line to the wallpaper color - then it is less visable.

Make the wallpaper (.tsk) file with line having same color as the background.
Of course you need an utility such Thememaker to create, change your Today theme
