wallpaper/shell tray problem

sorry for yet another newbie question

a picture is worth 1000 words so i have included a screenshot of my new axim.

basically you can see that i have added a wallpaper but it does not extend down to the tray (where the WiFi and BT icons are). that section of the today screen still has the default background. first i am wondering how to get the wallpaper to extend all the way down.

secondly, i am wondering if it is possible to keep the "tray" (with the WiFi, BT and shutXP icons) but get rid of the bottom bar with Calendar and Contacts or give it a transparent background.

thanks again for all your help.

-I always use a pic thats 320x240 (portrait), even thought a little gets cut off, you know it will fit. (Or 640x480 VGA)

-It already looks like your using a skinning software. I can't ever tell which. (Wisbar?) See if you can find any skins that "blend in". IDK if any do that, and i dont know if you can "get rid of" those buttons on wm5.

1 don't use wisbar, but have been able to do that. I have made a larger picture, as has been said. I used themegenCE to extend a theme for VGA and making both landscape and portrait wallpapers for wm5. It also allows me to Change the theme colors. I use vjtoggletoday which makes the two so6tkeys just small lines at the bottom Of the page. Finally I attach the program newmenuwm5 to the left softkey to quickly add new files and notes.

EDIT: Attached thumbnail. I couldn't do that from my axim it's not this dark on the axim - believe me!!

To fix this, go into your Pictures & Videos program on your device, find the picture you are using in WAD and set it as your default today screen wallpaper. This will make the tray blend with the WAD wallpaper.

In WAD you cannot get rid of the soft keys and keep the tray. You can only either get rid of the tray or you can get rid of both. Maybe Chris will be able to add that option to WAD later if it's possible? You could hide both and then design your own "tray". Solsie did modify some skins so that the softkeys and tray blended with the wallpaper but I don't think he was using WAD (could be wrong). See solsie.com.

thanks for the replies guys. yea i figured out that the wallpaper issue had something to do with WAD. i believe that the only way to get this seemless wallpaper in WAD is to chop up a picture into slices and add them as separate components.
