Can anyone help me with ThemeGenCE?
After much confusion I have finally *almost* worked out how to make a TSK but there's one last thing that I don't understand. Here's my TSK:
My problem is that both the top and bottom bars are suppossed to be black although the silver looks very nice! When I build the theme in ThemeGen the bars are black on the preview but when I transfer the TSK to my AX they're silver?
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
riaxim.

Black bars
1) It is a theme for WM5 as I see. Don't forget that there are 2 previews in program : one for below WM5 and one for WM5 !
2) Have you defined BaseHue in WM5 options ? If not, WM5 will genearate Basehue depending on your color settings.
3) Have you defined specific keys for WM5 ? If yes, It supersedes BaseHue. But I don't think that your theme uses them, because bars are with gradient. If you want plain bars in black you have to define some specific keys.
See Step by Step Tutorial here :

for more details.

Thank-you for your reply BenThon. It's not too often that when I ask for help the creater of the program replies!:approve:
From what you have said it looks like I'm going to have to learn something else Seem's having a pda nowadays comes with a pretty steep learning curve attached to it
I'll get to it when I have time and report my results.
Thank-you for your time,
riaxim

Ok I finally got around to this but I still have a few problems. I have managed to make the top bar black with white text but I cannot figure out the keys to use to make the bottom bar black with white text. Am I right in thinking that the bottom bar is called the command bar?
Could you please tell me which keys specifically relate to the bottom bar?
Thank-you
riaxim.

To have pure black you have to setup 2 keys with black color :
Color_SoftkeyFlatCenter and Color_TitleFlatCenter. When both keys are with these colors, the BaseHue Key is not used by WM5.
With ThemeGenCe you have another button to set these keys in the WM5 page (Key +). In this page select the two keys and set them to black. Validate and save the theme.

Finally!:) Thanks BenThon. You have created a very nice program but unfortunately I am a slow learner sometimes.
I will spend more time with ThemeGen so that I can make even better TSK's.:approve:
All the best,
riaxim

I should have known that I would run into another problem.
I seem to have set the start menu background to the same background as the today screen. This creates a problem if I press start when I am in an application. Here's an example:
How can I set the start menu background to "transparent".
Thanks
riaxim

Alas ! I think it's a dream ! TSK does not take in account transparency.
Maybe I am wrong...

Tsk and transparency

Hi Alaister,
Thanks for the TSK !
But Start Menu is not transparent. The images in the 2 TSK you sent me are all 24 bits (RGB) but without alpha channel.
You thought it was transparent because in these themes the Start Menu images were built from the Today Menu Images with a certain transparency and a white background.
But if you use these themes, you will have the same as riaxim showed. If you are in an application and tap on the Start Menu you have not the transparency with the application.
I have tried transparency with png images which have alpha channel and have the same result.
So transparency is not taken in account by TSK.
I will make a post to explain this in the forum.
Thanks again for your help,
Friendly, Benoît

For some reason, and I've been using ppc for a long time, I thought that start menu's were transparent.:rolling: Guess not. Weird how that got by me for so long.
Thanks for pointing that out,
riaxim
