If I wanted to find the images on my laptop/ start menu, start button, docks, menu bar etc......where do I look? I have a Hp 5040 running windows xp!!

Are you looking for actual images of the menus in the windows folder?

They are probably embedded in dll files and not just floating around picture files. That would make the os way too bulky, and easy to change/screw up.

You can always just use the print screen button on your keyboard, and then paste into paint or whatever and edit.
