Minor theme question for Pocket PC 3.0.11171

Hey, I've got a Compaq H3600 IPAQ, from the days before they were HP, and it's running PocketPC 3.0.11171.

Recently I've been trying to find some themes for it since I recieved it as a hand-me-down, and noticed that somewhere along the line was an implementation to change the text color from black on the drop-down start menu. Is it possible to change that through some hack in this OS, or would I need to upgrade to Windows Mobile x? (The only issue with that is I'm not all too sure if my device would support it given it's age.)

Edit for clarity's sake: I realize the recent theme-builders support changing the font color in question, the only issue is that my PDA won't allow that to change despite whatever may be in there.

If I recently got a used pocket pc, the first thing I would do to it is perform a full reset to restore the pocket pc to its factory settings. This will remove all of the prior user's information and settings and restore it to its "out-of-the-box" state. To perform a full reset:

There are lots of free themes available that can be used on your pocket pc. Here's a link to a website where you can download some themes - there's quite a lot of garbage on this website, but you'll also find some decent themes there:

Yeah, I know. I can find the themes just fine. The only catch is that either my device or my OS (most likely the latter) won't support changing the default color in the drop-down start menu.

I know that it's not a settings issue or anything because I specifically remember you not being able to edit that both at the time this device was released, and at the time the OS upgrade was available. I just want to figure out how to get this color to change.

Have you tried using a third party software to change the color? If you post the theme here, I can try to change the color for you.

The only free ones I find are PDA apps, and I can't seem to find a color section for the dropdown menu.

Here's one theme where the black font is really horrible for that section:

I can't access the link you provided - I get a "page not found" message.

Try this piece of freeware....doesn't run on WM5.0 devices, but may work on your pocket pc:

FreewarePPC.com - Freeware Pocket PC: FunnySnake TKCreater v2.0.1

You'll load the software to your pocket pc and edit the theme there. You should be able to change the font color on the start menu.
