New Skinning Program
There is a new skinning program called PPX that looks fairly interesting. I MAY have found a replacement for Pocket Facelift.

You can read the press release here. And there is a thread about the product here.

It will probably take a bit for me to get used to it, after using Facelift for so long, but I think I will like it.

That is how the developer of the UI (user interface) set it up. It is quite nice. I think I am going to really like this program once I figure out all of the things I can do with it.

Hi all... there's a bit of a learning curve... but once you get the hang of it, it hardly takes any time at all to create a new UI. Here's one I just created this morning... took about 1/2 an hour.

You can get this one, my WinXPSE, and others at speedZone...

SRacer's WinXPSE is the screenshot I linked to in my post, and is the UI Iam currently using. Very nice.

Well, I've installed the Demo, I want to try it before I buy it, but SRacer's WinXPSE doesn't work very good with it. The start button at the bottom doesn't work. Is this resolved if you buy the final version? I'll keep fiddling, but it looks like the program is good, just a skin issue. Until there's more skins though, not gonna buy it.

I just found out about PPX (read about it in another forum then did a search here for it) and am very interested! In a nutshell, can it basically replace icbar, calendar+ and tagenda all in one shot? (Plus lots of other features too it seems.)

In a nutshell... yes and much, much more. But keep in mind that PPX supports Today plug-ins so you can still use your favorites with PPx... I use tAgenda with mine.

vtecmonster, I'm not sure what happened with your install of my WinXPSE skin. Over 120 people have downloaded it and no one ran into a problem. (and yes, I do know that people are using it! )

I tried the demo, but I cannot get it to work somehow.
When I start it, I get a black screen. The menu bar says "PPX Demo Loading" and that's it. I have to reset then.

What am I doing wrong?

Anyone know how to create your own skins? I read the file on the website but I can't figure it out. I have all the files that I need but can't seem to put them together or change the backgrounds etc.

Thanks,
-Eric
