OK, stupid question. I have an X5 and I downloaded Theme Generator 2.0. After making a few themes, the next time I synched my AX I was unable to download my newly created themes. It said PPC 2002 was not compatible. I could not find where it stated what version my X5 was running, but I am assuming it is PPC 2003. Where can I find the theme generator for PPC 2003 or is there some way to make my current SW work???

Go to Start -> Settings -> System -> About

The second line will say Version x.xx.xxxx

If the version starts with 3 you have 2002. If it starts with 4 you have 2003.

However, I don't know why Theme Generator would only run on one or the other... don't you install it on your computer and just put the themes on your PPC? All themes should work on both 2002 and 2003.

I have just had the same problem with both Theme Generator and Maker! I have PPC 2002 and they will not load onto my PPC. They are on my desktop. I tried copy and paste but they are a blank when I open them on my PPC. Any help would be great!

I have PPC 2003 acording to your info. When I create a new them it asks if I want to load to PPC and when I say YES, it gives me the message that there is a compatiability problem.

Well I tried it again by opening theme generator and opening a saved theme. Then I copied it and pasted into the "My PDA documents" folder on mydesktop under "today screen themes" and it synched right up no problems.

I bet what happened is the maker of Theme Generator, in their infinite wisdom, wouldn't let you sync unless you had PPC2002 (to keep those with PPC2000 from trying to sync). However, instead of checking that you have at least 2002, they checked that you have exactly 2002. Geniuses.

I use Themaker Lite... it was free when I downloaded it and it works fine for creating basic themes from home pictures or from downloaded files of several kinds (.bmp, .jpg, etc - havent tried other kinds but so far so good). You can change colors of title bars to match you picture etc. It also works with WM2003. Once you create a theme (using fairly easy steps in the program) and save it (your choice of names), you can simply open the ActiveSync explorer and copy files to the documents folder on your devise... I just copied and pasted them in a folder entitled "pictures". After you complete this, just go to the Axim and click 1. Start, 2. Settings, 3. Today, 4. pick whichever theme you like, 5. check the "Use this picture as the background" box, 6. exit. Sorry if I overdid the instructions. You probably knew half of those steps already. I've got about 8 themes right now but I only use 1 or 2 regularly... I've got a cool storm picture (sorry I can't do a screen shot).
