Hello everyone,

I've recently purchased a Dell Axim X3i and am hoping to make some themes of my own. As such, I was wondering what everyone here uses to create their custom themes. Which apps, web resources, online tools or knowledge bases, etc. -- anything and everything would be appreciated. Also, any tips regarding picture compression, resolution, etc. would be appreciated.

I think most people use M$ Pocket PC 2002 Theme Generator. On the last page, the "Send theme to device when finished" doesn't work with WM03 but it's a simple matter to copy the theme to your Axim via ActiveSync and select it from the Today settings.

If like me though and your still using win98 (yeah OK I'm years behind the times, but...)

You'll find that won't work and you'll need to try something like thememaker lite

I personally use a freeware program called FunnySnake TKCreator (http://www.funnysnake.com/) that installs on the Axim and allows you to create new "tsk" theme files or edit existing ones. It's surprisingly full-featured for a free program and convenient (in my opinion) because it runs right on the device.

I guess I do mine a little different;

I use MS theme genrator for the theme creation.

I use a small, little program called "Smart Color Pink N' Capture" for custom colurs (It gets you the Binary number of the color you want so that you can use it in MS Theme generator).

And then I use Snag-It 6 for the screen capture to do the uploads.
